Character Sheets

Updated: Oct 3, 2024

Character Sheets are out!

The rules for Character Sheets are simple. Start with a total of 20 points and divide that up between Health Points and Magic Points. You can do whatever combination you wish, but there has to be a total of 20 and at least one point in both.

There are 5 main skills that affect actions. Athletics, Interpersonal, Strength, Magic and Mechanical. Players decide the following bonuses: +2, +1, 0, -1, -2. Apply that however they like to the 5 skills. Skills level up every 5 levels for a +1 boost. So your best skills will be a +7 by level 20 and your worst skills will be at +3. The rest of the character sheet is fairly explanatory. Choose up to 5 spells at a time and 5 gear pieces or weapons. Its meant to be simple so get in there and enjoy!

Is it simple? Absolutely! The Troll Engine is meant to be easy. Stay tuned for more Table Top to Video Game content!

Wild I know! Its a fun random character generator from RPG Maker MZ. Lets see how this works.

Main has +2 for all his attack rolls. Excellent so he is likely to hit! He won't get a bonus to damage but we know he will be landing blows (most likely). He is not very handy though Mechanically speaking. You wouldn't want him trying to pick lock, disarm traps or operate heavy machinery!

So in combat if Main takes a swing and rolls a 9, his +2 bonus gives him an 11! However, if he tries to repair his armor and rolls an 11 he gets a 9 and fails.

This balancing system is simple enough for anyone to start. The other player races have advantages too and their own bonuses. Humans are the most versatile however. Stay tuned for more!
